BASEMENT RAFT AND RETAINING
WALLS |
|
TREATMENT TO
RAFT SLAB:
Providing and applying Vandex
Super cementitious based
crystalline, in depth concrete
waterproofing to Raft by dry
sprinkling Vandex Super
immediately prior to casting of
Raft concrete. All construction
joints and cold joints shall be
treated with Vandex Slurry
poured on to old concrete
immediately prior to casting of
new concrete. Upon sprinkling of
the Vandex waterproofing
material, it shall react with
the free lime and moisture
within the capillary tracts of
the concrete, to form insoluble
gel crystals that penetrate deep
into the concrete. These
insoluble crystals formed shall
permanently block the
capillaries and minor cracks up
to 0.3mm width that are present
in the concrete, and driving out
water to provide a permanently
waterproofed concrete. The
compound of active chemicals,
while in the absence of moisture
shall remain dormant and
re-activate once the concrete
structure is re-exposed to
moisture or water. The Vandex cementitious
waterproofing treatment shall
remain waterproofed even under
pressure up to 12 atmosphere
(120.00 meters) (tested in
accordance to DIN 1048), and at
the same time allow the concrete
to “breathe” by allowing the
passage of water vapor out of
the structure. |
|
TREATMENT TO
CONCRETE DEFECTS LIKE
CONSTRUCTION JOINTS COLD JOINTS,
HONEY COMBS & POROUS CONCRETE:
All construction joints, honey
combs, cold joints, after
casting shall be treated by
hacking open the affected area
to sound concrete, fixing
nozzles and grouting the same,
under pressure with cement
slurry mixed with plasticizer,
and non shrink additive. |
|
REATMENT
TO RETAINING WALLS:
Cleaning the entire surface by
water jetting, wire brushing and
repairing the construction
joints, honey combs etc.
Pre-wetting the surface and
applying Vandex Super slurry in
two coats. Upon application of
the Vandex waterproofing
material, it shall react with
the free lime and moisture
within the capillary tracts of
the concrete, to form insoluble
gel crystals that penetrate deep
into the concrete. These
insoluble crystals formed shall
block the capillaries and minor
cracks up to 0.3mm width that
are present in the concrete, and
driving out water to provide a
permanently waterproofed
concrete. The compound of active
chemicals, while in the absence
of moisture shall remain dormant
and re-activate once the
concrete structure is re-exposed
to moisture or water he Vandex
cementitious waterproofing
treatment shall remain
waterproofed even under pressure
up to 12 atmosphere (120.00
meters) (tested in accordance to
DIN 1048), and at the same time
allow the concrete to “breathe”
by allowing the passage of water
vapor out of the structure. Cost
to include base preparation
including cleaning and
wire-brushing the surface.
Treatment to honey combs,
joints, upturns etc. to be
measured separately. |

TREATMENT TO
FLOOR AND RETAINING WALLS OF
TANKS:
The Vandex BB 75 shall consist
of rapid-hardening portland
cement, specially treated and
graded grain-size distribution,
and special chemical ingredients
of an inorganic nature. The
Vandex BB 75 cementitious
waterproofing membrane shall
remain waterproofed even under
pressure and tested to 7.0 bar,
and at the same time allow the
concrete to “breathe” by
allowing the passage of water
vapour through the structure. In
addition, the Vandex
cementitious waterproofing
material shall protect the
concrete against ground water,
aggressive ground water and
certain chemical solutions.
Cleaning the entire surface by
water jetting, wire brushing,
etc. Pre-wetting the surface and
applying VANDEX BB 75 slurry in
two coats with trowel. |
